The monsters are out of the closet. Magic is real. Society has found itself divided into those who have accepted the 'others', and those who wish to send these creatures into a fiery grave. A church that teach the ever lasting life by embracing vampires' eternity. Humans who have risen up to create hate groups against them. An eternal struggle between angels and demons amidst it all, threatening destruction of the entire world in the cross-fire. All the while, most of society works, lives, breathes, right along side monsters and beautiful creatures from their dreams. Who are you among them? Welcome to Savannah, Georgia.

At least she didn't arrive with a tail this time around. As the motor of the boat she meanuvered drew nearer the dock where she had last met and seen Grayson. It bumped against the wood, as she shut off the engine and coasted in towards the dock itself, and then moved quickly to gather up the rope and loop it around the piling, to secure the boat she'd taken to reach the Swamps once again. It was a refurbished 30' cabin cruiser, she used it to get from island to island or main land, rather than taking the ferry all the time. Less Iron on this particular boast than the others after all. Since she worked hard to redesign it for what she needed. A California king bed, a small dinette area, and dull bathroom, for when she went out to deep sea on it and anchored it to go 'swimming'. Then when she secured the boat to the dock, she walked back to the wheel and picked up her backpack she'd brought along with her, as well as a netted bag which was a gift for Mamma T.

Then smoothing out her attire, an outfit which had taken her a few hours to decide upon to wear. You know something casual but cute, without being ostentatious of obvious. Hey it was better than a bikini and a gauzy shirt which she'd worn the last time after shifting back to cover up the nessessities now wasn't it? Of course it was and she liked it too, it was comfortable and well if she said so herself she looked nice in it. Taking a breath, she climbed out of the boat to the dock and then faced up towards Mamma T's and the porch which over looked the bayou it was nestled within. Since she wasn't sure where else to search for Grayson she knew Mamma T's was the perfect place to at least start looking for the Alpha Wolf of the Pack.

She didn't see too many around unlike last time, and so she proceeded up the dock to the pathway which lead up to the humble establishment. Reaching the steps she gave a call, as she made her way up to the porch. " Mamma T you here sugar? I brought you some fresh Shrimp, Crawdads, and Cod." That way she wouldn't be met with Mamma T's double barrels or something else less savory. Not that she probably hadn't already been spotted either. Still it was never good to just sneak up on a person and she was a quiet stepper to begin with, despite the heels she wore.

With her announcement made, she crossed the porch to the door and headed inside with her catch in one hand, and the backpack slung over the opposite shoulder. The door creaked and squeaked on opening, and then slapped behind her after crossing the threshold. Giving a moment for her eyes to adjust to the change in light, she searched around for Mamma T or anyone else whom happened to be about...

Grayson Roarke, Ulfric of Hope Pack
Joe who had been clearing some debris from the recent storms noticed the boat and it took a few moments before Mama was out and heading into the main part of the place. By the time Sarah had made it through the door, Mama was leaning on the bar top with a hot cup of chicory and waving her over. “’monn chile, what ju got, good things for mah pot Ima smellin” The woman was wrinkled and aged and yet there was a tenacious love of her pack and life that glowed from the brown skin. Fact is she probably predated the pack-course to ask a lady her age was a huge no no-Mama T. still had a right hook could land ya in the yard rubbing your backside and yer jaw. Joe heard them and reckoned he would let the Ulfric know they had company. Since the birth of his own, he had decided to pick up work here rather then return to Hope and work on bikes. It made sense play when you successfully manage to create life- you guard it. Grayson was right about that for sure.

Grayson himself was down stream a bit, few paces or more working on an engine for Ralka. The girl was the daughter of their local tow company and smuggler course he did not admit that part, and was determined to get this ole leaky thing out. She had last summer managed to catch a good amount of fish and one gator. This had bought her a nice paycheck and she had talked her daddy into letting her do it this year. He was fine with it but the boat motor had its problems. Namely being older then her dad. ‘I reckon I can get Joe down here an tweak it up. You just gotta be patient darlin” He ruffed her head and stepped back to let her set it back and sigh. She was just like every human or creature down here- ya live by the laws of the bayou and the trick was to make it work for ya. “Ya all be out by tomorrow I promise. Now go tell your daddy I got it finished and Ima head back down to Mama T. I still need to set up some schedules for the tours” She waved him off and he lifted his toolbag and climbed the small embankment before heading down the dirt road.

While the world was watchin this Hurricane, Grayson watched what was here. Fact is if it climbed up the coast it was gonna give them trouble, but half the summer folk and snow birds had ran up this way and he saw no reason for them all to make a lil money on the tours. The tourists had to evacuate and he was guessing would still be right now. That meant a boon here while Florida took its brunt. Grayson never wished ill, hurricanes were demons themselves, but while it decided what it was gonna do, ya gotta live. That is just the way of the world. Money is something the pack banks. There is now more then before the serious weight of knowin sometimes you might have to relocate. Thankfully being of the forests and bayous, it was easier for them, but it could and has happened twice. It leaves a lasting impression.

There was just something about Mamma T's that drew her in, aside from the scent of the food of course. That was mouthwatering and ole Chicory freshly brewed filled the air as she opened the door and stepped in from outside. With the slapping of the old screen door in her wake, her eyes adjusted fairly quickly and when she saw Joe slipping away she gave him a nod of her head, before her eyes a lit upon Mamma T. Only then her features brightened as she moved towards the counter that the elderly lady was leaning against. " Sure did Mamma T. What with the storm a commin' the catches were good at dawn. Filled most my pots set out over night, more than I would eat on my own and don't want to see it go to waste. Thought you could use some and if you know anyone else whom could pass it along. "

She spoke as she held the netted bag aloft so that Mamma T could take it. Even as her gaze shifted about the interior of the place. There was no sign of Grayson,so she slid her pack from her shoulders and sat it on a stool beside her, before she looked back to Mamma T and met the elder woman's gaze with her own. " Also, was hoping to catch Grayson around too. Found somethin' he might be interested in. Aside from that though, everything round these parts quiet and good? Yall prepared for what's coming if it doesn't alter paths? " She made her intentions known first, though she was very genuine in hearing about the happenings, and ensuring that they were all going to be alright if this storm coming up the east coast might be as bad as they say it could be.

Plus with her recent catches being more than she possibly needed, she wanted to see it get passed out to those whom might need it to stock up with in case the storm is as bad as the weathermen are speaking of it being. And despite the woman before her, knowing she'd perhaps do well and ride out the storm like most of them would, she wouldn't want anything to happen to her either. It was something ingrained within her, about seeing and taking care of one's elders, even if they weren't of the same species as you. Sarah didn't have many she would be worried over, Mamma T was one of those she would though, same with Lyane and a couple of others. No more than a handful of people though. She really needed to get out more and meet more people. That was for another day though.

For now though she rested her forearms atop the counter, and hooked her left foot behind her right, as she listened to Mamma T's response to her questions of how everyone was and if they were prepared just in case...

Mama handed her the cup an collected the offering. “Thank ya chile I reckon these will get good use. Fishing good when the storms comin” It was a fact. Stirred up the waters and the fish got to surfacing better and collecting. They would be a goodly amount even locally, hauled in. “Spect we waiting to see if it’s a comin. Mostly just makin sure everyone got high ground on their mind. Most been down here or o’er in Nawlins when the others roared into the cities. We are pretty used to them. They sayin maybe more like ole Florida gonna get their oranges shaken though”

While she was talking the very man queried about strolled in. With a grin and a wave at the two he moved behind the bar and dropped his bag. “ Aft er noon ladies. Why hello darlin, nice ta see ya” He tipped a finger on his brow before turning to head into the kithen and wash up a bit. Working on the boat had him a little grimy and Mama would skin him grabbing coffee mugs with his own mitts. He called out as he ran his hands beneath the water. “Mind getting me a coffee Mamma? Been a long morning working on the engine” He dried his hands and returned to the bar feeling a little less oily and leaned down to brush a kiss against an aged cheek. The affection Mama had for most was legendary. That and she had a soft spot for her boy.

When Mama went to get a cup for him he turned his attention to Sarah, “Well other than we have the best stew what brings ya down to our neck of the woods? I was just heading out working on a few boats while we got fair weather” the cup appeared and he grinned taking it with relish. The chicory was an acquired taste he had been told, frankly coffee without it was just a bland pretense. This was rich and vibrant and smelled way better in his estimation. Joe had spotted him before he arrived and mentioned they had a visitor. Curious he waited to see what brought the pretty mermaid down their way.

" Oh for sure Mamma, many will get in a good haul which will be nice as things been rather slim this year on most." She concluded in agreement with Mamma T's assessment about the catching when a storm was on the horizon. Yet added she knew it has been a hard season for those whom lived off their work upon the waters as well. Too many environmental changes effecting many a person's honest, and hardworking livelihood. Even as she took the offered cup of Chicory in exchange for her netted sac. Only to nod her head with appeasement to hear that everyone around these parts were doing what needed done in case the storm did reach them. Yet she chuckled about the oranges of Florida going to be shaken. " Aye, won't have to peel or squeeze them once this storm is done to get fresh juice I'm thinking. We won't get it as bad I don't think though, but we'll get it the currents shifted this mornin' directing Irma this a'way. Let the other's know Mamma to get to higher ground after securing everything. And if they stay to ride it out, I'll check on them during and after. " It was the least she could do after all. Since she could swim beneath the rage of a storm to reach points when needed. And if things turned bad well having those with a heads up to look for her, meant no harmful surprises on her end.

It was while she was replying to Mamma T, when the fine hairs along the nape of her neck tickled. She rose the cup of chicory to her mouth and took a drink as her gaze turned to spot Grayson. Blues shined bright when he greeted her with a smile hidden by the mug. A nod of her head given to his salute. Only to watch him jaunt out towards the kitchen, yet she'd seen the grease and oil upon his hands and denim which told her he'd been busy helping out with something mechanical. Yet even as she watched him walk to the kitchen, her eyes lifted to Mamma T and she gave a shrug of her shoulders and a waggle of her brows as Grayson paused to kiss the woman's wrinkled cheek.

Lowering the mug after a good swallow of the rich dark brew, she chuckled as he asked for his own cup and that he had been working on an engine. " You sure you worked on the engine? Looks like the Engine worked more on you." She teased good naturedly, while he washed up before remaking his appearance. She kept fingers hugged around the mug of coffee Mamma T had handed her, before she eyed him when he took up Mamma's place at the counter. " Couple of things, had a good haul and wanted to share it, too much for little ole me alone. Mamma T's coffee too is as good as her stew is by the way also. Yet.." She paused with a cant of her head, sending feathery blond frame her features as she lifted the mug up for another swallow." Came looking for you mostly Gray. Remembered what we were talking about when I flopped up on yonder deck? "

She asked him, even as she set the mug down to the bar's surface and straightened her posture with the unhooking of her foot. " It got me thinking and doing some digging into. Then a old friend arrived and we both got to wondering even deeper on it all. Soo we may have gone and did a bit of looking around so to say. " She reached up and rubbed the side of her nose slightly, a gleam of mischief rippling in her eyes before they sobered back up along with her grin that was given in kind to his own given to her.

" Found something needless to say, and think you may be able to help. Aside from wantin' to look at you again you rugged devil. She nipped at the corner of her lower lip with a chuckle and a shake of her head. Turning partially she adjusted her pack and opened up the front small pocket to the backpack and withdrew the baggie holding the tweezers and the crispy fried fry within, setting it onto the counter between them. She looked down momentarily to what the baggie held, as she leaned once more on her forearms and hooked her foot back around her ankle. Her hands returning to the mug of coffee, and eyes lifting back up to him to watch his expressions.

Grayson Roarke, Ulfric of Hope Pack
“Well someone gotta get those ole engines running. Time to cast before that storm comes up” Grayson was fairly even keeled about this whole storm thing. When you are bayou bred you get used to Mother Nature’s ways. Storms come and go but the people always stay. Sometimes it was how they survived that made the mark and not what was lost. “Sure is good coffee, I haveta say I am biased though.” Grayson sipped the steamy brew and leaned against the back shelves which houses all number of local brews. He liked to keep away from imports, people down here wanted home mixes not something they could not pronounce let alone drink.

A masculine chuckle followed her admission that she had went and dug about with a friend, but the somber tone that followed chased those from his lips as he paid attention what she might have brought. “Yea I recall we were talkin about the murders of that shifter and family. Well most but the kid anyway. You guys head up and look into it?” He had no doubt, it was a very fey like thing. The few he counted as friends had that same particular issue. Curious.

Grayson sat the mug down and placed both hands aside the bag that held something. He gazed down and frowned a moment before taking a deep breath. “real stench on it. Magic maybe..but not ours. “ Magic. That covered a hell of a lot of categories of creatures. Fey, Witches hell even humans and demons. If he recollected there was some of those fangs that did the magic too. “This was at the house? Surprised the investigators missed it. They have a crew for that stuff. You saying this might be the perpetrator or..” Or were there more then one. Maybe a puppet and a puppet master? Grayson had wondered if there was more then one killer. The bodies and the amount of damage that was inflicted almost begged there had to be an accomplice. Even if it was a watch out or someone to transport the perpetrator of these heinous deeds. “I might know someone who would be interested in this. Freya Storm. She runs the pard, she also works with the police in the city”

There was a nod of her given when asked if they went and found this while poking around. Of course they had, it was a fae thing, curiosity true, but it was more than also. Something had killed some supernaturals, not an easy feat certainly, not a near houseful of them anyhow. And honestly once something began swimming around in her or Lyane's brain neither would have been able to let it rest until it was all figured out. Thing was, it was all still a swimming up there in their noggins, and they hadn't found many answers, only far too many more questions and risen more curiosity into the whole thing. " Yeah did, and wouldn't have found it myself if I hadn't been nearly dragging my nose along the silicone seal holding the tub in place. Was looking where the bones were organized, trying to see if maybe those on scene missed something. They did that.." She pointed the baggie as he came over and began to examine it. " Only that though, and magic.. oh yeah.. lots of that.. "

She paused to sip the chicory, her gaze solemn and serious over the lip of the cup as she studied his own. Till she drained her cup and set it on the counter off to the side. Her hand returning to toy with the necklace of pearls and blown glass into small shapes of shells she'd made. " Thing is, it has some of mine and Lyane's sort of magic and more.. reacted to the tweezers something fierce, but didn't die or go dormant like it should of. So I splashed it with a drop of some blessed water. The Magic had shifted while fighting the tweezers. Sent the hair on the nape of my neck to standing upright. Well after that drop of water hit it.. it threw a spark that nearly singed my eyebrows off and sent both me and Lyane reeling. That's whats left of it. When he asked about it perhaps being the perpetrator or hinted at more, well at first she started to give a positive nod and then stilled with a shrug of her shoulders.

" Thinking it was only one thing that did it, but was it on it's own power at the time? Yeah we're thinking not. Lyane's off trying to track down the kid that survived. She thinks it may have been the kid, with a bit extra inside of him. Until we can find the kid though, we have that.." Blinking, she wrinkled her nose, and straightened up again. Hands both pressing to the counter with fingers spreading out in a hopeless gesture. Which was why she came because neither she nor Lyane had the means to run any tests on it. She was about to ask Grayson if he knew of anyone that might, when he must of read or mind or something because he spoke of a Freya just then.

Golden brow rose aloft as she smiled slow and steadily broader. " Well now look at you, tellin' me just what I was a hoping you'd be able to help me with. She chuckled softly, as hands lifted palm upwards towards him, before clapping together and settling back to the wooden surface. " I thought you'd be able to point me towards someone. Wanted to have it tested, see what more might be gleaned from it, maybe find out exactly what we're up against. You said it yourself, this killer effects all of us, and I couldn't sit on my tail and do nothin'. Only thing is, I don't know that many people or supernaturals round here. I keep to myself for the most part, and since I'm the only like me here, don't swim with others either to get the things needed for my own shop and crafting talents. So you think this Freya would test it or at the least have it tested? I certainly don't wanna find myself in those metal shackles though for snooping where I wasn't supposed to be. " She made a face with a tilt of her head, her hands rising upwards in a defensive, or rather like ' I don't want to get arrested' manner or a 'whoah hold on there fella' gesture.

" So where can I find the Pard leader then? Think I might be able to pull you away from working on more engine's for a bit? Could maybe make it worth your while..." She shifted then to gather up the baggie and slide it back into her back pack. While zipping it up she made the offer with a teasing expression. " I don know, work out a deal or something with you for your time of course. Wouldn't be right to ask for something and not do something in kind. Just name your price and I'm your gal. "

Grayson Roarke, Ulfric of Hope Pack
Grayson offered that masculine grin at her remarks, though he was weighing the possible clues to the magic traces. Fact was magic had a thing with most of em, supernaturals that is. Even his pack had their own shamanistic ways. But the mess that Sarah had cooked was definitely not shaman or earth. That was something humans and demons cooked with. Trust him it aint gas. “Sarah Freya and Mick will be able to get to connections, she works with the humans to keep us all in line ya know”

He set the glass down and leaned both elbows on the bar as Mama T wandered past holding two mugs for the boys outside he had caught wind of. They had been down further helping load a few old parts that the pack was gonna use for back up with the fishermen. “wallll, putting it like that. I imagine makin it worth my while might be interestin. “ That smile that said everything and nothing was as innocent as well..innocence. For all the flirtin he got teased about in this world, Gray had never really sought out anything since the death of his mate save the death finally of a few vampires. The more he got a chance to kill the better it usually was. But that whole shift into everybody on shakin hands relations made that dream a shelved idea- mostly that is. What happens in the bayou stays in the bayou. Believe that.

“Tell ya what Miss Sarah, if you don’t mind a bike ride over some fairly bumpy roads I don’t mind takin ya to Freya’s but that means you buy the beer.” He swept his mug up and turned to set it on the small window so it could be rinsed out. Nuthin wrong with a beautiful woman on a bike, thing is he suspected the guys up and Freyas were gonna suddenly want to come fishin once they got a load of the lady that would be – if she wanted- perched on his bike with that hair flying behind her like a cloak. Poor men, they probably were gonna be outfinned. Mermaids…they always come out on top.

Contemplative over meeting with the leader's of the Pard, yet Grayson reiterated that they would have the connections to do what needed done with what was found at the Murder House. Honestly, that was good enough for her to go on truly, he'd given his word, and her a direction in which to go, to seek out those whom could do more than what either she or Lyane could do on their own. Another thing too, she'd followed her gut, in thinking that Grayson could help her out in this instance, and her gut had been correct in that assumption. Not that an excuse to get herself a good looking over the wolf being a side benefit of course too.

So she'd asked if she could lure him away from the work he'd been doing to meet up with these Pard Leaders he'd spoken of. Of course she flirted, it was all innocent though, everyone enjoyed a good flirt now and then, and she was no different. Besides flirting with Gray wasn't hard to do either, not when she enjoyed his repertoire and quick witted responses. It was a way to get to know the other, without making it all serious and what not. If it never went beyond the casual innocent flirting that was all good as well. Having Grayson as a friend was good enough for the Mer. Whom hadn't had her tail itched in very long time. Many were the reasons for that, number one reason being she was rather choosy when it came to rolling around in the waves with someone, and secondly in her own beliefs casual relations were far more complicated than having it all laid out on the line on what to or not expect.

When he made mention of going on a bumpy bike ride she perked up and her smile grew beautiful and full. Slipping her pack onto her shoulders so it was secured against her back she gave a nod of her head. " Sounds good to me darlin' I'll buy your beers, for the ride and the introductions to Freya and Mikheil. Then when we return here, if I can lend my hand to anything you just let me know. My place is all bunkered up to ride out the storm that's coming. " She offered, before picking up her own mug, and slipping around rinsed out hers and set it into the sink. Smiling to Mamma T as she passed them by with two more mugs and headed for the porch. Then she looked to Grayson to lead the way to his bike. Following in his wake, and then waiting until he was ready for her to slip on the back. Which she did and got comfortable for the ride. Her arms slipping around his waist as her knees pressed lightly to his hips so he knew she hadn't fallen off.
